Dental health begins with regular cleanings, exams and appropriate X-rays for diagnosis. Not only will this keep your mouth healthy and make your teeth last longer and look better, proper cleaning helps prevent things like heart disease which can be related to the state of your oral health. The primary reason for a cleaning is to remove tarter and calculus (hardened buildup) from around the teeth and under the gum where floss and a toothbrush can’t reach. We recommend a visit every six months for people in good oral health who floss and take good care of their teeth and gums. For some people, more frequent visits may be necessary to keep their dental health in top shape.
Orthodontics: Today there are several options but traditional metal braces remain one of the most effective and economical ways to straighten teeth, and realign your smile. Orthodontically corrected teeth are less prone to chipping and wear, easier to clean, and less likely to decay. Because they’re easier to clean, this of course means you’ll lessen the chance of gingivitis, recession, and gum disease over your lifetime. Straight teeth results in less strain on jaw muscles & joints, better chewing and food digestion and you’ll close spaces to avoid the need for bridges or implants. Not a bad result—and that’s not to mention the confidence and attractive smile straighter teeth can give you!
Dental Implants: Over time, you may lose or damage teeth. While there are choices about correcting these problems, one that affords you the best results is dental implants. Strong and stable, a dental implant restores a lost tooth so that it looks, feels, fits and functions like a natural tooth. Crowns: These basically replace the enamel of a tooth with a super-strong shell of metal or ceramic that mimics the color of your natural teeth. Bridges: Bridges can be a great choice for replacing lost teeth. They’re long lasting, give you predictable wear and are durable. A bridge in general takes only a little longer than a single crown. This is a much quicker procedure than having an implant or even a partial denture, and they’re less invasive than implants. . For anyone who is unable to undergo implant surgery for medical reasons, a bridge is a nice fixed alternative.

Root Canals: Everyone’s favorite! But it’s really not as bad as people fear. This procedure involves the removal of the nerve inside a tooth. When a root dies it needs to be removed from inside the tooth to treat any infection and as preventative maintenance. Many times, after the problem has been taken care of, a cap will be necessary to secure and maintain the shape of the tooth. Both of these are simple, fast & pain-free procedures these days.
Extractions: No one wants to lose a tooth, but sometimes it’s necessary to keep your oral health in its best shape. Dr. Pennartz is proficient in almost all extractions including wisdom teeth. At Breckenridge Smile Center, we’ll make it as comfortable as possible and offer you solutions for replacement to get you right back to normal.
Immediate Dentures: When your teeth are extracted, we can have a denture ready to be inserted. In this way, you never have to walk around without teeth. Immediate dentures protect you while your extractions are healing.
Dentures & Partials: These are removable appliances that replace missing teeth. They’re prepared and constructed for a personalized fit and to look as natural as possible.
